The site used to be home to the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, which went bankrupt and closed in 2009. It is two miles south of McCormick Place and four miles from The Loop.
It sits in between 26th St. and 31st St. next to the ME tracks along the lakefront, and is accessible via the 27th St. Metra stop or 35th-Bronzeville-IIT Green Line stop.
